It’s hard to come up with profound thoughts when I’m leaving in 5-10 minutes to catch a train to catch a plane for Holland!

It’s hard to pack for winter (30 centigrade weather) when it’s toasty warm here in Israel by comparison (upper 60s, low 70s in the daytime).

It’s tempting to not believe that it can be so cold elsewhere; tempting to not bring the clothes recommended. But if I don’t heed the warning, I know I’ll be sorry and my time in Holland will be miserable. So I’ve packed a winter coat and hat, gloves, winter slacks, sweaters… even though looking at them makes me uncomfortably warm. I know I’ll be thankful for these items… later.

Forewarned is forearmed.

And I’m reminded of Passover, which we just celebrated. Who would think that killing a lamb and placing blood on the posts and lintel of your door would have such an impact–a life or death impact?

Tempting not to… but I am alive today because a long time ago, one of my ancestors was forewarned and obeyed.

And I’m reminded of Easter, soon coming, when we celebrate the resurrection. And all who believe in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hallelujah! What a Savior.

Passover and Easter blessings to all, and I’ll fill you on in my trip to Holland when I get back.
