So today I’m in rambling mode. Not really sure what I want to say but I do want to connect with you. First, I’d like to thank those of you who completed the survey I sent out. I really appreciated your honest and open answers. I was humbled by your kind words, and that you not only read my posts, but you do receive and open my emails.
In a day and age where we are inundated with tons of email, requests, and pleas for help, I just want you to know that I do not take you for granted. I am thankful for you. When I write, I want you to know that I am wondering, what will have meaning or import to you… what will bless, what will encourage?
Sometimes I miss the mark, and you patiently cheer me on.
My blog has changed over the years. When I first started writing, it was mostly to have a point of contact with friends and family near and far. I filled you in on my life, and what was happening, the joy of marriage, and the sorrow when Rich died.
Since then my blog has been a mixture of updates about my life, and passing on to you the encouragement I have received. You, in return have encouraged me.
I’ve tried to write more frequently—because I’m told that is what a successful blog is about.
I’ve tried to have some catchy titles—because, I’m told, that is what people want.
But what you want seems to be different. You aren’t looking for frequent or catchy, you want relevant, encouraging, and not a lot of wasted words.
So this post will be short. As you can see, I’ve changed the way you receive notifications. I wanted to make it personal. I’ve also included the entire post in the email—some of you don’t like clicking. So now you can read my post in your email or on my website—your choice. If there are any glitches with this email, something seems wrong, or it doesn’t look right, please let me know.
This blog is not about a business, it is about being transparent, sharing my life with you, and in so doing, encouraging you to enjoy the God who created us all for something more than this life so frequently seems to offer.
I will continue to seek ways share with you the Hope that I have based on the sure foundation of God’s word, and to be a small ray of light and hope amidst all those emails you get that just ask and ask, and never give back.
For now, I just want to say thank you.
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy…
Philippians 1:3–4 NKJV
I think I have to have a wordpress.com account to leave a comment, but I’m going to try anyway. Love your post today, Deb. You’re on the right track with your blog. I always enjoy your thoughtful posts and insights. Keep it up!
