It’s been an interesting past couple of weeks. I honestly didn’t know how we were going to pay the mortgage for February, and then my dear hubbie got a quite unexpected gift that covered it. A week later I got another contract for some work, of all places, in Australia. And today I received notification that I have received a grant that paid for my professional membership in the Society for Technical Communication. I’ve also gotten an opportunity to do some writing for an online news/entertainment site focusing on Grand Rapids. I will have my own section focusing only on Technical Writing. It won’t pay at first, but there is potential. I’ll keep you posted there.
Well, other than it being weird having conference calls at night so I can talk with people in the day time tomorrow, the new work is good. Don’t know what will be next, but it sure is interesting.
The girls are out with friends, Rich is reading, and the house is quiet. It is windy and cold outside, but at least we aren’t getting the snow they are getting in DC. So that is all for now!

These answers you received remind me of something Israel said a couple of weeks ago when he was teaching on Shabbat in the kehila (which is something that I’m sure you’ve heard before): when we expect God to answer in one way He will often answer in a completely different way. Don’t remember exactly how he said. But it’s like we’re looking at the circumstances and not waiting on God. I know you have your priorities right, but it is surprising (maybe amazing is more correct?) to see what God does.
Praise Him for His answers even when we don’t see them. He is faithful.
I love your testimony of delight in God’s work in your lives.
Thank you for keeping me up on the job situation.
PTL Deb. ! wonderful faithfulness of our heavenly Father !

shalom, Dvora.
As I was researching the Flare forum for info on importing FM docs, I came across a post of yours and your name immediately caught my attention, and I thought, “I wonder….” and started poking around through your site. Sure enough! Dvora, my wife, 20-year old son and I just returned from a month in Tel Aviv, working in a soup kitchen ministry of the Calvary Chapel there, and just getting to know the people in the neighborhood and sharing the reason for the hope that is in us. It was an awesome experience. We are now seriously praying about, and looking into the logistics of, liquidating everything here and going back and doing this work from now on. I’ve been punching out technical docs since the early 80′s and think I am now on the verge of a major shift in the work I do, though I may need to get tech writing work in Israel for a time. If you’re interested, I’ll send you the travelogue I kept of our experiences (a rather large PDF). I am anxious to explore your site futher and read your story. May God bless!
